    Burma Border Closure Ends, Trade Resumes

    Trade between Mizoram and the neighboring Burmese states has resumed with the reopening of the only border crossing following a drugs and weapons smuggling alert.

    The crossing at Champhai had been closed for three weeks by a local police chief in Mizoram who claimed he had information that weapons and drugs were about to be smuggled into the ethnically restless Indian state. Read the rest of this entry »


    Kelly McBee Crowned 2007 Mrs. America

    Mrs. Wyoming Kelly McBee, a 30-year-old mother of three,?who works as a beauty consultant in Worland, Wyoming, has been crowned the new Mrs. America. Not to be confused with the Miss America contest, the Mrs. America contest “spotlights some of the most accomplished, contemporary, poised, articulate and attractive married women.”

    The first runner-up was Mrs. Tennessee Christina Ryan, second runner-up was Mrs. Nebraska Michele Storm, third runner-up was Mrs. Oklahoma Melissa Soto, fourth runner-up was Mrs. New Mexico Cortney Whitley, and fifth runner-up was Mrs. California Kelly Stornetta. (source)
